About Us...

Our Executive Director

Executive Director, Nancy Szamborski joined Bucks County Housing Group in January of 2008. Ms. Szamborski has a 20-year background in housing management, extensive experience in human services and top-notch credentials in real estate brokerage and property management. Her career portfolio includes work with military housing, social work, and government management. Most recently, she served as Director of Housing for the military at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove.

“I began working as a volunteer for Housing Group about 5 years ago, helping with property management,” said Ms. Szamborski. “I was very impressed by the dedication of their staff, the quality of services offered, and the sense of community mission. From the time I learned about Housing Group, I wanted to be a part of its future. I plan to utilize my social service skills and housing experience to help them expand services and grow. With the mortgage crisis affecting so many homeowners, and the limited affordable housing choices available, we have plenty of work to do. I am very gratified at having been selected as Housing Group’s next Executive Director, and I look forward to working with our distinguished Board of Directors and our talented staff.”

Ms. Szamborski’s work with the military included some innovative programs unique to the Philadelphia metropolitan area. In 1998 she had her housing office licensed as a brokerage, the only one of its kind in the Department of Defense. She also controlled the housing allowances for all military members in a 10-county area in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, raising the rates to some of the highest in the country. In 2004, MS. Szamborski successfully developed and obtained sponsorship for state legislation to help military renters in Pennsylvania. In 2006, Ms. Szamborski was sent on a long-term assignment to Singapore to manage military housing assets and to set up a relocation office for US military and civilian personnel, including American Embassy employees. Among her many awards is the Navy’s Meritorious Civilian Service medal.

Besides her military work, Ms. Szamborski has a background as a caseworker, therapist, and manager with a number of social service agencies and facilities, including welfare, child welfare, corrections, psychiatric hospitals, and the Social Security Administration. She is an active member of several professional housing and real estate organizations and numerous committees.

Ms. Szamborski holds a BA in Psychology and a BA in Social Welfare from Penn State University, and an MS in Organization and Management from LaSalle University. A licensed real estate broker, she is also a Graduate, Realtors ® Institute – GRI®, as well as a Certified Property Manager – CPM® and Real Property Administrator – RPA®. Nancy and her husband Gene, a Rohm and Haas executive, reside in Richboro with their son Eric.
